Firelight and Sentora to Launch Cover for DeFi Vaults

Firelight Protocol is proud to announce its integration with Sentora, the leading institutional DeFi risk curator, to provide native DeFi cover for Sentora’s public and private vaults. The Firelight integration will be introduced into the Sentora suite of products within this quarter and will establish a new security standard for institutional capital on-chain by embedding a dedicated protection layer into the world’s largest curated vault ecosystem. Sentora currently operates high-scale DeFi strategies integrated with enterprise-grade platforms such as Kraken and Fireblocks.

Addressing the Mechanical Necessity of On-Chain Cover

As institutional participation in DeFi continues to accelerate, the demand for robust, capital-backed protection has transitioned from a luxury to a mechanical necessity. While sophisticated risk models exist, the persistent threat of exploits remains a primary roadblock to large-scale adoption. By integrating Firelight’s native cover directly into Sentora’s infrastructure, we are addressing this critical structural gap.

The Firelight Protocol is built on the Flare Network and utilizes staked XRP via Flare’s FXRP, a 1:1, non-custodial, DeFi-ready representation. This architecture unlocks the first large-scale use of XRP as DeFi coverage collateral, ensuring the reserve pool is structurally uncorrelated with the protocols it protects. While our initial focus remains on the XRP ecosystem, Firelight is looking to expand its support to other digital assets in the future to further diversify the available protection pools.

Our approach to security is defined by programmatic underwriting and automated efficiency. By leveraging Sentora’s proprietary risk stack, which monitors over 1,000 risk models, Firelight can price and execute coverage based on real-time protocol health. Additionally, claims are processed through an independent consortium and funded programmatically, removing the friction and uncertainty often associated with legacy on-chain cover.
